Dubai is set to welcome the world’s rising netball powers as it hosts the inaugural UAE Netball Cup from June 15–21 at Al Nasr Club’s Sports Hall. The tournament features six national teams ranked in the world’s top 30, highlighting a major moment for women’s sport in the region.
Organised by the UAE Netball Federation in collaboration with Falcon and Associates and Dubai Sports Council, the competition is backed by title sponsor Dubai Holding Community Management (DHCM), which is focused on encouraging active, connected communities across the city.
Teams from the UAE (23rd), Republic of Ireland (18th), Singapore (19th), Namibia (20th), Kenya (25th), and the USA (30th) will compete in a round-robin format. Matches run from June 15th–17th and 19th–20th, with finals on June 21st.
UAE Falcons Eye Breakthrough on Home Soil
Susanne Skelding, founder of Active Netball and a central figure in the sport’s regional growth, called the event a pivotal step.
“Dubai is hosting its first-ever World Netball-recognised event,” Skelding said. “The competition will be intense. The UAE Falcons have a rare opportunity to face international teams in front of a home crowd.”
The Falcons, currently ranked 23rd, will field a team that includes both seasoned players and standout talents from the U17 and U21 squads. Backed by strong local support, they’ll aim to build momentum and rise in the global standings.
Sport as a Core Community Value
Francis Giani, Chief Community Management Officer at DHCM, underlined the organisation’s investment in sport as part of its broader approach.
“Sport brings people together, strengthens wellbeing, and creates shared experiences that matter and we support initiatives that align with these values.”
Tickets start at AED 40 and are available via Platinumlist.
