Dubai Sports Council’s Active Summer initiative returns to Wadi Hub with a new schedule of outdoor and wellness activities in August
A new series of outdoor and aquatic activities will take place this August in Hatta. The updated line-up includes swim challenges, guided hikes, yoga sessions, and structured swimming lessons—all hosted at the Wadi Hub.
The programme follows the success of the July edition of the Hatta Summer Sports Tournament, which brought in more than 6,000 participants and featured a mix of sporting and community-focused events.
The August schedule begins with the Active Summer Swim Challenge at the Drop-In pool. Open to all ages and abilities, swimmers can choose from distances of 100m to 1,600m. The challenge runs from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and every participant receives a completion certificate.
On August 17, a morning hike will guide participants through the green and blue trails from Wadi Hub to the Hatta Sign and back. The route highlights the area’s natural desert and mountain terrain.
A yoga and swim session will follow on August 24, beginning with a guided morning yoga class and concluding with an optional recreational swim.
The month concludes on August 30 with structured swimming lessons led by certified instructors, followed by recreational pool time. The session is open to both beginners learning to swim and experienced swimmers looking for informal training.
The August events continue the Council’s objective to promote year-round physical activity and make use of natural settings across the emirate. Past events in Hatta have included night hikes, yoga at Hatta Dam, kayaking festivals, and indoor competitions.
