Emirati Women’s Day on 27 August will be celebrated with a walk and run at Dubai Mall, part of the ongoing Dubai Mallathon initiative.

The event is open to women of all nationalities, ages, and fitness levels. It forms part of the national celebrations directed by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation.” This year’s theme, “Hand in Hand, Celebrating 50 Years”, marks the 50th anniversary of the General Women’s Union.

Honouring Emirati Women’s Role

The occasion highlights the achievements of Emirati women over the past five decades and their role in the UAE’s development. It also reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening community solidarity and promoting women as key partners in progress.

DSC has made women’s sport a priority in its calendar, offering programmes, tournaments, and fitness initiatives that encourage participation. These activities have helped create a broad base of female athletes, contributing to club teams and national squads.

Part of a Citywide Mallathon

The Dubai Mallathon runs daily throughout August across nine major shopping centres: Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Marina Mall, The Springs Souk, Dubai Festival City Mall, and Festival Plaza.

Each venue provides safe, fully equipped indoor routes for walking and running between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m., making sport part of daily routines for residents and visitors.
