Dubai will host the first World Triathlon Women’s Cup on December 7, 2025, with the event taking place at Dubai Islands. It will run under the patronage of Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum and is being organised by the Dubai Sports Council in partnership with the UAE Triathlon Federation and World Triathlon.
The competition forms part of the Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Campaign and links to the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033. The long-term plan aims to grow women’s participation in organised sport while strengthening the local sports system. It includes a series of programmes designed to support clubs, develop talent, and widen community involvement.
DP World has been named the official partner. Dubai Holding will host the event, while Dubai Sports Channel will provide live coverage. Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, said the company is supporting the Cup to help create more opportunities for women in sport. He noted that Dubai Islands will welcome athletes from around the world.
Preparations are under way, with coordination meetings held between Dubai Sports Council, World Triathlon, the UAE Triathlon Federation, Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Sports Channel, and Dubai Holding. Organisers said the focus is on delivering a safe and well-run event.

First all-women’s World Triathlon Cup
The race will include swimming, cycling, and running across five categories. The elite field will headline the Cup, while amateur athletes can enter sprint and super-sprint distances. The sprint covers 750 metres of swimming, 20 kilometres of cycling, and 5 kilometres of running. The super-sprint includes a 400-metre swim, 10-kilometre ride, and 2.5-kilometre run. A team relay will run across both formats with three athletes taking one segment each.
Registration is open for women aged 18 and above until December 3, 2025, through the event website. The organising committee encouraged first-timers, experienced amateurs, and club athletes to enter.
The Dubai Sports Council said the Women’s Cup supports its aim to expand pathways for female athletes and provide major international platforms for competition.
