Arabian Warrior OCR League Launches in Fujairah

The 2025/26 Arabian Warrior season launched in electrifying fashion at Fujairah Adventure Park this past weekend, marking a historic milestone with the debut of the UAE’s first official Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) League.

More than 700 participants, from elite athletes to student challengers, took on the Sprint Edition’s 2.5km course, braving team relays and solo races crafted to push their physical and mental limits. Among them were 250 student athletes representing regional schools, competitors from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), and seasoned gym warriors eager to test their mettle.

Race Director Nic Cartwright talked to us about the league’s purpose, saying:

“Arabian Warrior aims to develop the next generation of athletes through challenge, teamwork, and community. Launching the OCR League here in Fujairah is a statement of intent. This season marks the UAE’s entry onto the global OCR stage.”

Hosting the opening event shows Fujairah’s ambition to lead in adventure and endurance sports. CEO of Fujairah Adventure Park, Amr Essam, said:

“The energy, participation, and innovation here today are exactly what we aim to nurture in our community.”

Designed to blend elite sport with community engagement, the event included music, family activities, and a festival atmosphere that welcomed seasoned OCR athletes and first-time fans of OCR.

Looking ahead, Arabian Warrior will expand its grassroots impact through a new collaboration with the UAE School and University Sports Federation (UAESUSF), the UAE School Games, and the UAE University Games—formally integrating OCR into the student games calendar for the 2025/26 academic year.

Next, the league heads to Dubai. On November 15, Arabian Warrior takes over Dubai Festival City in partnership with Dubai Festival City Mall, offering youth, elite, and community categories in the heart of the city.
