Games of the Future 2025 Comes to Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi will host one of the most ambitious sporting events of the decade, as the Games of the Future 2025 (GOTF 2025) makes its UAE debut from 18-23 December at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. This international tournament will showcase phygital sports.

What are Phygital sports?

Phygital sports is a fusion of physical sports and digital gaming which will bring together elite clubs and athletes from five continents. Games of the Future 2025 will feature 11 disciplines, including Phygital Football, Phygital Basketball, Battle Royale, and MOBA games on both PC and mobile platforms.

The UAE’s Minister of Sports, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi said:

“The Games of the Future 2025 merges athletic performance with technology, inspiring youth, driving sports innovation, fostering teamwork and supporting a sustainable economy based on innovation and knowledge.”

Confirmed participants include top-tier teams such as PBC Astana, Thang Long Warriors, CD Holcattes, and Great Team Brazil, alongside standout phygital football teams Mexico Quetzales – Armadillos FC, CM Jardim, FC WHITEBIRD, and La Crema—all returning after earlier success in Abu Dhabi.

Among the stars are Rodrigo Ulibarri, Aldair Giorgana, and Matheus Dedo, known for excelling in both physical and digital formats.

The Games also have the backing of the World Phygital Community, with representation from Phygital Brazil, the Serbian Association of Electronic Sports, and the Belarusian Federation of Phygital Sports, reflecting the growing momentum of this hybrid sporting movement.

Community Roadshow to Bring Phygital to the People

A community engagement roadshow across Abu Dhabi and Dubai will give fans direct access to phygital sport through hands-on activities and exhibits.
