With 100 days to go until the return of the Dubai T100, one of the region’s most anticipated multisport events, UAE endurance athlete Ghani Souleymane is launching an extraordinary feat: 100 consecutive 100km triathlons in 100 days.

The challenge begins Friday at Kite Beach and will culminate on November 16 at the Dubai T100, marking Souleymane’s 100th triathlon. His attempt is officially registered with Guinness World Records and aims to raise funds for children affected by conflict.

Each day, Souleymane will complete a 2km swim, 80km bike ride, and an 18km run—totalling 10,000km over 100 days. Known for his high-endurance campaigns, including 30 ultramarathons in 30 days (2020) and 30 Ironmans in 30 days (2023), Souleymane now takes on his most demanding test.

“This challenge pushes the limits of what’s possible,” said Souleymane. “I’m doing it to support children who’ve lost so much.”

Running from November 13–16, the Dubai T100 is part of the global T100 Triathlon World Tour, supported by the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO). The event pairs elite racing with mass participation and a festival atmosphere along Dubai’s iconic skyline.

It also supports the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which encourages residents to engage in 30 minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days.

The schedule features events for all levels of experience:

Growth for the Sport in MENA

Last week, the PTO closed a Series C funding round led by SURJ Sports Investment, with participation from Sir Michael Moritz, Cordillera, and Verance Capital. The new investment will support global expansion and innovation, including in the MENA region.

“As we expand globally, we’re focused on making triathlon more accessible,” said PTO CEO Sam Renouf. “Ghani’s 100 x 100km effort reflects the T100’s commitment to sport, community, and impact.”

Dubai is already seen as one of the fastest and most dynamic courses on the tour.

Elite Athletes Target Dubai

Swiss Olympian Julie Derron, who currently leads the women’s T100 standings and placed second in Dubai last year, is set to return.

“Last year’s Dubai T100 was fast, challenging, and world-class,” said Derron. “The atmosphere, the fans, and the energy in Dubai made it one of the top events of the season. I’m ready to return.”

With registration open and demand high, the 100-day countdown offers a prime window for athletes to secure their spot.
