The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team has departed for Bangkok to compete in the 2025 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship.
The adult division of the competition kicks off today and will run until November 7, with youth categories, Under 16, Under 18, and Under 21 set to follow from November 8 to 14.
Led by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF), the delegation includes 90 male and female athletes competing across multiple divisions. Their participation shows the depth of talent across age groups and the UAE’s growing quality in jiu-jitsu.

Vice Chairman of the UAEJJF, H.E. Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri said:
“The championship is a major milestone for every level of the National Team, from podium regulars to athletes making their international debut. All groups share a clear goal: to represent the UAE.”
Head Coach Helder Medeiros said the athletes have undergone a rigorous training programme designed to sharpen both body and mind.
“The players enter the championship prepared and confident, ready to turn weeks of training into results.”
Last year, the UAE’s adult squad claimed nine medals—including two golds—at the World Championship in Greece, while youth teams brought home 42 medals. The team now looks to carry that momentum into Thailand, aiming to add to its already impressive medal tally.
As the action begins in Bangkok, fans across the UAE and beyond will be watching closely, hoping the nation’s finest grapplers can once again make their mark on the world stage.
